Grading

Records are VISUALLY graded (unless otherwise noted within the description) using the Goldmine Standard with one variance: for us Excellent is that area between VG+ and NM. Grading is Record/Cover. Please not Tim (grades all vinyl and covers) has been grading and selling LPs online for over 20 yrs. 

Mint - I never use mint as a grade for used records as it is impossible.  Records that are graded Mint are new (and normally sealed - if they came that way from the manufacture) as a way for people to easily find New Vinyl.

Near Mint (NM) - Best described as nearly perfect.  Both the vinyl and cover have no visible defects.

Excellent (Ex) - Is the area between NM and VG+.

Very Good Plus (VG+) - the vinyl will have a few minor defects such as a few hairlines and/or scuffs. Slight warps are possible but they will not effect play. Covers will have minor wear including minor seam wear and/or a seam split that is less than an inch long.  They may also have cut-out marking.  These will be noted.

Very Good (VG) - the vinyl will contain more noticeable flaws. They can contain groove wear and light scratches that can be felt.  These will not cause skips. Minor writing/sticker is possible on the label. Cover can have ring wear but it will not be overwhelming. Some creases are possible. Seam splits will be longer than 1 inch but the cover will still be solid. Covers can containing some writing on it and/or price tag. 

Good Plus (G+) - less pretty than VG but it is okay. Labels can have bigger (no big) stickers or writing.  We highly recommended you ask for pictures of these vinyl before purchasing

Good - plays without skipping but isn't pretty.  The cover will have heavier ring wear that will be distracting.  It can also have huge writing/stickers on the cover. There can also be obvious damage from attempted sticker removal. We highly recommended you ask for pictures of these vinyl before purchasing
